“Itinerary”
Day 1: Arrive to Cairo, Egypt
Upon arriving to Cairo international airport, you will be met and greeted by our Elshams travel representative, who will assist you with the airport formalities and your luggage, then he will transfer you privately to your hotel in Cairo to stay for 3-night include daily buffet breakfast.
Day 2: Full day guided tour; Memphis, Sakkara and Giza plateau.
This day we start our tour by visiting Memphis-the oldest and first capital of unified Egypt- built by king Menes the unifier of the two lands around 3200 B.C, proceed the visits to the Necropolis of Memphis at Sakkara, where the extensive field of monuments of the old kingdom in addition to the legend step pyramid built by king Djoser around 2680 B.C. Lunch will be included and served in a local restaurant closed to the pyramids area. After lunch break we will continue our tour the Giza plateau, where you will explore the three pyramids and the mythical statue of Sphinx, overnight at your hotel in Cairo.
Day 3: Full day guided tour Cairo (Egyptian museum, citadel & Khan Alkhalili bazaar).
This morning drive to the Egyptian museum, which houses more than 160,000 master pieces of ancient Egyptian antiquities in addition to the treasures of the young king Tut-Ankhamoun. Lunch included and will be served in a local restaurant closed to citadel area. After lunch break we continue tour to visit the Salah Al-Din citadel and the alabaster mosque of Mohamed Aly enclosed, then we proceed to Khan Alkhalili bazaar, overnight at your hotel in Cairo.
Day 4: Excursion Alexandria.
Drive westward to Alexandria (approx. 150 miles to the northwest of Cairo) where you will have a full day guided tour to visit the Greco-Roman Amphitheatre, the Cata-komb of Kom Alshoqafa, the Pompey pillar and the fortress of Quiet-Bay which was built around 1477 A.D. on the ruins of the old lighthouse of Alexandria. The lighthouse of Alexandria was built by Ptolemy II around 280 B.C. Lunch included and will be served in a sea food restaurant on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea. Drive back to Cairo and overnight at your hotel in Cairo.
Day 5: Fly to Luxor | Embarkation your Nile cruise & tour East bank.
Early breakfast at your hotel, then check out and transfer to Cairo domestic terminal to fly to Luxor-the site of the ancient city of Thebes; the seat of the great Pharaohs of ancient Egypt during the glorious period of the Egyptian empire of the New kingdom.
On arriving to Luxor our representative there will pick you up and transfer you privately to Embark your luxury Nile cruise, where you will stay on full board for 4-night while it is sailing from Luxor to Aswan.
This day you will have an unforgettable full day guided tour the beautiful temple of Luxor and temples of Karnak (where generations of ancient pharaohs wished to record their names here) on the east bank of the Nile. Overnight on board at Luxor.
Day 6: Full day guided tour the west bank. sail to Esna.
This day we will cross to the west bank of the Nile to marvel at the Necropolis of Thebes, where an extensive field of tombs dedicated to Pharaohs, their queens and noblemen at the valley of the kings and queens, behold at the mortuary temple of queen Hatshepsut and the colossi of Memnon. Lunch on board and sail to Esna lock. Cross the lock and continue sailing to Edfu where dinner and overnight on board of your Nile cruise at Edfu.
Day 7: Sail Edfu / Kom-Ombo / Aswan.
Early in the morning and after breakfast on board, you will have an amazing visit to temple of Horus (the falcon god of sky in ancient Egypt), this stunningly structure is a well preserved and colorful one, reveals what temple worship in ancient Egypt was alike. Back to your Nile cruise to have lunch while the Nile cruise is sailing to Kom-Ombo. . Later, disembark at Kom-Ombo (hill of gold) to visit its magnificent temple dedicated to Haroeris (the sun god) and Sobek (the crocodile god), who was considered by some ancient Egyptians to be the creator of the world. While there, view the mummified remains of several crocodiles. Continue sailing to Aswan, where dinner and overnight on board.
Day 8: Full day guided tour Aswan.
Proceed to the impressive granite quarries and site of the Unfinished Obelisk which Illustrating the skills of Egypt’s stonemasons, this monolith is one-third taller than any other ancient Egyptian obelisk. Then, ride a motorized boat to the temple of goddess Isis, on the island of Philae. This sacred complex was dedicated to the Goddess Isis and reflects a fusion of three great civilizations — Egyptian, Greek and Roman. The temple was dismantled, and then painstakingly reassembled when the Aswan High Dam was constructed in the 1960s. In the afternoon a visit to both Aswan old dam and the High dam. Dinner and overnight on board of you Nile cruise while you are enjoying the famous Galabya party.
Day 9: fly back to Cairo for your second stay.
Disembark after breakfast, free time for shopping in Aswan then transfer to Aswan airport to fly to Cairo, where your second stay for one-night include buffet breakfast. On arriving to Cairo domestic terminal, our representative will pick you up and transfer you privately to your second stay hotel in Cairo.
Day 10: Home Departure.
Breakfast at your hotel, check out and transfer to Cairo international airport for your home departure.
