“Itinerary”
Day 1: Arrive to Cairo, Egypt
Upon arriving to Cairo international airport, you will be met and greeted by our Elshams travel representative, who will assist you with the airport formalities and your luggage, then transfer you privately to your hotel in Cairo to stay for 4-night include daily buffet breakfast.
Day 2: Full day guided tour; Memphis, Sakkara and Giza plateau.
Drive to Memphis; the first and oldest capital of unified Egypt, built by King Menes around 3200, proceed to Sakkara where the burial place of the old kingdom (Sakkara is the necropolis of Memphis, it contains an extensive field of monuments including 14 pyramids and hundreds of beautiful colored tombs and addition to the tomb of the sacred bull Ibis at Serapuim) where you will see the step pyramid built by king Djoser 2680 B.C. Lunch included and will be served in a local restaurant overlooking the pyramids, then after lunch break, we will continue our tour to visit the three pyramids and mythical Sphinx at Giza Plateau, overnight at your hotel in Cairo.
Day 3: Full day tour Cairo.
This morning indulge yourself into unforgettable tour in Cairo, where you will visit the Egyptian museum which houses more than 160,000 master pieces of antiquities of ancient Egypt, in addition to the treasures of the young king Tut-Ankhamoun, continue your visits to Salah Al-Din citadel and the alabaster mosque of Mohamed Aly enclosed. Lunch included and will be served in a local restaurant near by the citadel, following lunch, walk from the twin-towered Bab el-Fotouh - a fortified gate in Cairo's Old City walls- to Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, one of the city's major souks (open air marketplaces), where you participate in a free-wheeling treasure hunt and put your bargaining skills to the test. Browse the tightly packed stalls displaying everything from spices and leather goods to jewelry and vegetables, all on a street that has hardly changed in centuries. After finishing that tour back to your hotel for overnight.
Day 4: Excursion Alexandria, full day guided tour the old city
Drive westward to Alexandria (approx. 150 miles to northwest of Cairo) where you will have a guided tour to visit the Greco-Roman Amphitheatre, the Cata-komb of Kom Alshoqafa, the Pompey pillar and the fortress of Quiet-Bay which was built around 1477 A.D. on the ruins of the old lighthouse of Alexandria. The lighthouse of Alexandria was built by Ptolemy II around 280 B.C. Lunch included and will be served in a sea food restaurant on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea. Drive back to Cairo and overnight at your hotel in Cairo.
Day 5: fly to Aswan, Full day guided tour Aswan.
Breakfast at your hotel, check out and transfer to Cairo domestic terminal to fly to Aswan, where on arriving to Aswan airport our representative there will pick you up and transfer you to your Nile cruise to embark your Nile cruise and stay on full board for 3-night, and the following sightseeing.
A full day guided tour the impressive granite quarries and site of the Unfinished Obelisk which Illustrating the skills of Egypt’s stonemasons, this monolith is one-third taller than any other ancient Egyptian obelisk. Then, ride a motorized boat to goddess Isis Temple on the island of Philae. This sacred complex was dedicated to the Goddess Isis and reflects a fusion of three great civilizations — Egyptian, Greek and Roman. The temple was dismantled, and then painstakingly reassembled when the Aswan High Dam was constructed. Precede the tour to visit both high dam and old Aswan Dam, overnight on board.
Day 6: Sail to Kom-Ombo / Edfu.
Breakfast on board, sail to Kom-Ombo …Later, disembark at Kom-Ombo (hill of gold) to visit its magnificent temple dedicated to Haroeris (the sun god) and Sobek (the crocodile god), who was considered by some ancient Egyptians to be the creator of the world. While there, view the mummified remains of several crocodiles. Continue sailing to Edfu, where dinner and overnight on board.
Day 7: Sail Edfu / Esna /Luxor.
Early in the morning and after breakfast on board, you will have an amazing visit to temple of Horus (the falcon god of sky in ancient Egypt), this stunningly structure is a well preserved and colorful one, reveals what temple worship in ancient Egypt was alike. Back to your Nile cruise to have lunch while the Nile cruise is sailing to Esna and cross the lock to continue sailing to Luxor where dinner and overnight on board.
Day 8: Full day guided tour Luxor & flay back to Cairo.
Disembarkation after breakfast; full day guided tour the necropolis of Thebes where you will marvel at the colossi of Memnon, the mortuary temple of queen Hatshepsut, valley of the kings and queens. After that tour you will join a fantastic restaurant on the west bank of the Nile to have your lunch, then after lunch break we will continue our tour to visit the treasures of the east bank at Luxor and Karnak temples.
After finishing that tour we head directly to Luxor airport to fly back to Cairo where your second stay for 1-night includes buffet breakfast.
Day 9: Home departure.
Breakfast at hotel, check out and transfer to Cairo international airport for your home departure.
